Government backing down from Plan Change 120

The Government has finally acknowledged that zoning for two million extra dwellings in Auckland needs to be watered down.

News broke last week in the attached articles in the NZ Herald and The Post.

This is a major victory for Aucklanders who opposed the plan change that would allow intensification throughout almost all suburbs.

However the Government has not said how it will change the plan which has already been notified.

Thousands of submissions have been received, commissioners appointed and a schedule set so the whole process is underway.

We look forward to hearing how the Government and Auckland Council can change the direction of the ship PC 120 that has already sailed.
